Scott L. Massey, PhD, PA-C

With over three decades of experience in PA education, Dr. Scott Massey is a recognized authority in the

field. He has demonstrated his expertise as a program director at esteemed institutions such as Central

Michigan University and as the research chair in the Department of PA Studies at the University of

Pittsburgh. Dr. Massey's influence spans beyond practical experience, as he has significantly contributed

to accreditation, assessment, and student success. His innovative methodologies have guided numerous

PA programs to ARC-PA accreditation and improved program outcomes. His predictive statistical risk

modeling has enabled schools to anticipate student results. Dr Massey has published articles related to

predictive modeling and educational outcomes. Doctor Massey also has conducted longitudinal research

in stress among graduate Health Science students. His commitment to advancing the PA field is evident

through participation in PAEA committees, councils, and educational initiatives.

Madea Valdez, PhD

Dr. Medea Valdez has served as the Founding PA Program Director of the Master of Science Physician Assistant Degree Program (SEU PA Program) at Saint Elizabeth University since 2017. With over 30 years of clinical experience in Internal Medicine, Chemical Dependency, Employee Health, Oncology, and Endocrinology. Dr. Valdez's research focuses on medical errors, the role of PA students in promoting patient safety, and interests in interdisciplinary education, simulation for improving student learning outcomes, and stress management. She is dedicated to raising competent and committed PAs who respectfully serve their patients, finding joy in working with an exceptional group of faculty and students at Saint Elizabeth.

Stephanie Bowlin, PhD

Dr. Stephanie Bowlin has 35 years of experience in PA education and administration, and has served the profession in various capacities. Formerly the PA Program Director at Western University of Health Sciences, a tenured associate professor, and the former chair of ARC-PA, she also contributed as a site visitor, consultant for PAEA, and reviewer for the PAEA Journal. In 1998, she earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of La Verne. Dr. Bowlin's distinguished career includes being the first woman of color to hold the title of Physician Assistant with a doctorate in California and the first PA to be appointed as a Dean. For two decades, she served as dean of the College of Health Sciences, overseeing programs with impressive retention rates and board scores. Transitioning to central administration, she now serves as an assistant team chair for WSCUC and has held leadership roles in CAPA, AAPA, and PAEA. Recognized as a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Dr. Bowlin aims to leave a lasting legacy of leadership and excellence in PA education.
